Sully: Miracle on the Hudson

Based on a true story, this movie was released in 2016. Hanks stars as the hero pilot, Chesley Sullenberger, also known simply as Sully. In this film, he stars alongside Aaron Eckhart, and Valerie Mahaffey.

The movie was nominated for an Academy Awards Oscar for Hanks as Best Actor. It also won the AFI Movie of the Year Award.

This movie depicts the aftermath of an incident where Sully landed his damaged plane on the Hudson River. Saving the lives of all passengers and crew.

Following what became known as the ‘Miracle on the Hudson’, an investigation was launched into Sully’s decision to make that landing.
